Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
