Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
